HONDURAS CONFLICT: The Lesser-Magistrate Doctrine in Action PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor Matt Trewhella

On June 28th, 2009, Honduran President, Jose Zelaya, was seized and shipped off to Costa Rica by Honduran military personnel. This was not a "military coup" as the press continues to report, however. Rather, this was the lawful action of lesser-magistrates against a tyrant who wanted to usurp the Honduran Constitution for his own dictatorial designs.

The lesser-magistrate doctrine declares that - when a magistrate, who is lower in authority than another higher authority, opposes and/or resists the unjust orders or laws of the higher authority, he is justified in doing so and his actions are morally right, proper, and legitimate.

Submit Yourselves to Every Ordinance PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor Tony Romo

Read Dr. Chuck Baldwin's article on Romans 13.  I completely agree with his assessment

"Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:.." (1Peter 2:13a)
The Supreme "ordinance of man" in America is our Constitution. Any inferior "ordinance of man" that violates the superior "ordinance of man" is null and void and must be resisted. "We the People" are Caesar in America (Mark 12:17) and the Constitution is our law. The elected officials are not our "leaders", they are our "servants". They must submit to our direction through the Constitution or they become disobedient servants unworthy of service and must be removed. We refer to them as "civil servants" not "civil leaders".

Sovereignty Resolution in South Carolina Senate PDF Print E-mail

The article below doesn't even come close to describing what went on at the State House regarding the Sovereignty Resolution!

http://www.thestate.com/politics/story/793894.html

Approximately 30-40 Activists arrived at the State House for the Press Conference, and to send notes into the Senators who were to debate the Sovereignty Resolution.

The air was electric.  Enthusiastic citizen advocates got up early, missed work, spent their own money for gas and travel, and traveled for up to 2 hours to participate in the effort to support the Sovereignty Resolution.

Armed and Dangerous PDF Print E-mail

The subtext to today’s gun-buying spree is this: it’s beginning to dawn on millions of Americans that the Federal Government is nothing more than a criminal gang on a mass scale, pursuing all manner of theft, fraud, assault, outrage, abuse, and usurpation, but under the color of law. If this trend continues, and there’s absolutely no reason to believe it won’t, then it’s just a matter of time until we’ll be forced to defend ourselves from the criminal aggression of the state. We have the same right – and I would add, moral duty – to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities from the criminal depredations of the state as we have to defend against street thugs who break in to rob, rape, and murder. When the state consistently violates the law and behaves in a criminal manner, it forfeits our allegiance and our obedience.

However, confronting the central state is not something to consider lightly. Rank tyranny may clarify the political and moral issues, but the practical and prudential issues are far less clear, even to us Southerners who have always been a combative and well-armed people. We must treat this question responsibly and not succumb – not yet, at any rate – to romantic notions about running around in the woods in camouflage with our guns. It appears that armed defense against the state can’t be avoided. But, when we’re forced to act, it must be truly in self-defense. It must be under the authority of and on behalf of the commonwealth. Our response must be moral and lawful, rooted in the God-given right of restraining evil and in accord with traditional Christian precepts governing the community’s collective, organized use of force.
